Krishna............ Guruvayooraappa.......!!!

As a Keralite, everyone at least say the above heading. Yes... !!! For many of them This mantra like a saying Good morning ,Good Afternoon etc.( The best example is me it self ;) ).My mom told me when I was too young somebody told me if I say so I don't feel pain, fear etc..  That time on wards I used to say this every time. And gradually I became a Krishna devotee.

Why now am talking about all this....????!!!!!! So Sorry ... I don't want you guys get bored. Yeah we or on a trip mood right..???

So... Today am talking to you about a devotional trip to Guruvayoor Shree Krishna Temple. It's a famous Krishna temple in Kerala. Also one of the largest temple in terms of no of devotees visiting. The main deity here is Lord Krishna. If you are planning to visit Kerala not only to see the hills & beaches.. try to explore the temples in Kerala. Especially in Thrissur district of Kerala where our Guruvayoor Temple, Vadakkumnatha Temple.. and many more.

 So shall we start?
.

It's actually a trip by me with my family. We are located in Thiruvananthapuram. The capital city of Kerala. So we are going to start our trip from Trivandrum Central Railway station. Yes we are going to go on a train. Our train reaches Trivandrum around 11.10 pm (night) at station and departs 11.30 pm. ( Train name  MS Guruvayoor express 16127 starts from Chennai).). The train will reach Guruvayoor on the next day morning around 6.40. Temple is walk-able distance from railway station. If you are running short of time or have low budget you can get freshen up from the railway station itself. The utility services are very good there. otherwise rooms are available near temple, (Rate varies according to season.).

Dress code is strictly practiced here. Guruvayoor is an excellent religious place to see with rich in culture & tradition. Esspecially in the evening the whole temple is lit with lamps which add glory to the temple. Have to go in traditional dress for men and women ( Men in lungi with no shirt/baniyan, women should wear saree or skirt type dresses). No western cloths allowed.

(Our First wedding anniversary click in Guruvayoor :-))

if you would like to visit some more temples , There are many temples here not very far.

Vadakkunnatha Temple
Mummiyur Mahadeva Temple
Venkitachalapathi temple
Parthasarathy temple.. etc
